Baby S is here!
Baby S arrived Monday in the afternoon...eight pounds two ounces. It was a very quick and blessed experience. We had thought a lot about doing a home birth and decided it would be what was best for me and our family. I did decided in the last few weeks of pregnancy to go ahead and see a midwife at a doctor's office, just to be familiar with her and her me just incase I ended up either changing my mind or needing medical assistance. I was very comfortable with this, just to monitor me and baby in the last few weeks. This was the longest I have ever carried a baby, usually they come a week early...he decided to come just two days early. But all was perfect, aside for my inpatients. ;) He was born at home in the water as planned. It was wonderful to be able to relax in between contractions and focus on breathing. He came pretty quickly, when my body was ready to push. It was a extremely different birthing experience then I had ever had. Going with the flow of my body was amazing. I did get a little freaked out when he came out in the water, I guess because it was just new to me and different, but all was kept well with hubby and a great friend that was there to assist. With out them I could not have done it. They brought great peace and the reassurance that I needed.
We are recovering and doing well. We are so blessed to have another little one to hold and cuddle. We just can't love him enough!
Blessings,
JM
