legacy

The greatest legacy one can pass on to one's children and grandchildren
is not money or other material things accumulated in one's life,
but rather a legacy of character and faith.

Billy Graham

Do you run from your problems, or have the courage to stand and deal ~ Don't you think its instinctual for one to want to run?!  I know when something is stirrin in my home, it seems everyone wants to run.  I think I hear "I'm running away" or "I'm going to bed" more often than I would like for sure.  We have had LOTS of talks about how it takes so much courage to stay and talk, or hear someone out, especially over the last year.  We talk about how it is important to develop good habits of communication with people and to not shut down or shut them out.  We have to be conflict resolvers!  How you learn communication and conflict resolve as a child, will be how you deal with it when you are an adult.  No matter how hard things are, and even if, after you communicate things don't go YOUR way, or maybe you agree to disagree, you HAVE to talk things out and sometimes you have to agree to part and let God do the changing and working things out according to His will.

James 1: 2-4

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Be strong, be courageous, don't just let things go, work them out.  Don't run, but stand and pray!  Let your children see you have conflict and let them see you work it out the correct way.  Let them see you pray and trust God.  Don't let them see you run, or hide, or bury, or put up walls.  Open yourself up for GREAT things, for when we do things His way, we will be changed and blessed!
