Simplifying this Week...

One of my families goals we have been working on for a while is simplifying our home by eliminating items with electricity.  We would eventually like to be off-grid totally!
So...
This week we took our microwave out, and replaced the nutrimill with the Wondermill Junior Deluxe.  The microwave (or cancer box) as I like to call it hasn't been to much of an adjustment so far.  We have already been using other methods anyway.  I'll let you know on the mill.  It's pretty tough to turn, so I'll have to see after milling up 4 cups of flour for our pancakes.  I can't imagine the amount for bread.  :O
I really enjoyed reading about Homesteading Wife's challenge...

Some other things we already do is heat with wood, dry clothes on the line or around the wood stove, use lanterns for lights periodically.  When we get better lanterns we will do this more.  I do try to heat things up on the wood stove, but it's hard to cook on ours, because it is encased.  So you can't just cook on it like you can a cast iron one.  I am however working on saving for a wood cook stove!
I think my next elimination will be the coffee maker.  We'll go to a percolator.
Some hard ones for me will be my hair dryer and fans!!

What would be hard for you???
