land and new beginnings
After much attempt to buy a house...twice...It just doesn't seem to be what we are supposed to do. Both inspections came back negative...to the point that we just didn't want to mess with the repairs that need done. So we were just browsing a local for sale site, and came across this piece of property. It is 3.24 acres, it has a well and septic, and a concrete pad already on it. It has lots of different kinds of trees, lots of pines (which we love). It is about 6 miles from town, but you feel like you're in the middle of now where, maybe even like you're at the lake.
So...
We have decided to build. Something we have wanted to do over the years, but just never thinking it would happen. The best part is we are out of debt and plan to build slowly debt free. This we are very excited about. Never in a million dreams did I think we would be able to do this.
After much discussion and contemplating, we decided to build a smallish building to live in temporarily while we build our house. Hubby hopes to have this building done in the next two to three weeks. Between him working, the rain, and me having the baby, we are hoping all works out.
I'm very thankful I kept my pigs, goats, and chickens. We will be moving them over hopefully in the next month. He has been making trips taking all the outside stuff over already. We mostly have everything that can sit out in the weather taken over.
All this has seemed a bit overwhelming, but we know it will be a great adventure!
Blessings,
JM
