garden and greenhouse

The garden is coming along. In many ways, if everything grows, I'm excited to have a late garden. I would much rather can in fall instead of the middle of summer and I suppose because we live in Kentucky and our fall is wonderfully mild, that is possible. Everything seems to be growing well with maybe the exception of the zuchinni and yellow squash, I'm not really sure if it's doing good. We have replanted green beans with added tins to hopefully detour the birds. Funny thing ~ I forgot to buy pie plates so I was rummaging through the tons of left behind junk from the previous owner and had my "silver shiny" items gather when I found...guess...yes tin!  Isn't it just lovely. :/ I sure hope it works and we have lots of wonderful green beans!  We spent a couple hours weeding, straightening, planting, and tying up yesterday enjoying the beautiful weather. Though we are quite mosquito infested the overcast and rain has been wonderful.

I'm so grateful to have many hands making lighter work!

This is the attached green house, needing a bit of work, but hopefully going to be such a blessing. We have yet to clean it up because of heat and mostly wasps. I look forward to talking this project this fall.

Happy Gardening,
JM

  1. Are you going to dry those beans on the vine? For soup? Greenhouses are miserable to work in in the summer, aren't they?! Love the flapping tins :) Hope it does the trick!
