rest~

As I sat on the porch yesterday listening to the thunder roll I was all the sudden reminded of the strength of God, how mighty and powerful he is!
Then I hear the birds chirping and singing their songs and was reminded of the scripture of how he feeds them and takes care of them and how not one falls to the ground outside of Gods will. How he says to His that we don't have anything to fear or worry about. That he will feed us shelter and clothe us. That we are of more valuable to him then the birds of the air.
I've been thinking of our society and the world we live in and how far we've come from a "beginning" Christian nation built on Gods word and convictions. What lies ahead in the who knows how long future. How will it affect me, Gods people, my family, my children.
Fear rises up first, maybe from the unknown, then comfort comes. Comfort in knowing that my God is BIG. He is the ultimate ruler, over and in control of all things. I do not fear for my future with Him on my side what can "man" do to me. He is my Father and me His child. I may go through "living in this world", but I'm reminded often that I'm not "of" this world and my savior is coming back soon!
